Are aluminium rectangular hollow sections the same as aluminium rectangular tubes?

Yes, both terms are often used interchangeably. “Rectangular hollow section” is commonly used in structural and engineering context, while “aluminium rectangular tube” is often used in general fabrication and DIY.

What grades are your aluminium rectangular sections supplied in?

All of our aluminium rectangular tubes are manufactured and graded in 6000-series material. We keep significant stocks of 6060 and 6082 aluminium, all produced to comply with the standards set out in BSEN755 .

Is aluminium rectangular tubing as strong as steel?

Despite being more malleable, aluminium rectangular tubes are just as strong as steel. They have an incredible tensile strength meaning they react well to increased pressure, similar to steel. They are also extremely resistant to corrosion, meaning they have increased longevity in external applications and remain at full strength throughout their use and over time. Although aluminium is just as strong, it is much lighter and more ductile, making it the all-round better option for most applications.

Can you cut aluminium rectangular tubes to my specific size?

By selecting from our available aluminium rectangular hollow section sizes, we’ll match the closest option to your specifications and cut it to your exact dimensions. Some aluminium rectangular tube sizes we supply are 30 × 30mm aluminium square tube, 25 × 25mm aluminium square tube and more.
